Formerly Northumberland Boys Clubs/Clubs for Young People, NE Youth is the North East’s leading youth development charity supporting young people and youth organisations – in the communities where they live and work. Our history of practical support for youth clubs and services, and our ongoing work with young people, make up a vibrant blend of activity, support and development that reflects the needs of young people in the North East and makes a positive difference in their lives.
For organisations working with children and young people, NE Youth offers a range of services to help strengthen and support your offer for young people in the North East.

With over 25 years of Youth Sector experience, Jon leads of the region’s leading youth development charities. With support from staff and trustees, Jon has significantly increased income levels, grown the staff team and created purposeful partnerships across the business community. Jon’s networking and relationship building skills have been key to the recent success of NE Youth.

I’m employed as a Fundraising Coordinator by NE Youth, a leading Young Person’s charity based in Blaydon. We support young people aged 11-25 across the region in a variety of ways, from funding and hosting youth sessions in the local community to helping them find apprenticeships and get into work. We are also part of a large network and provide support, advice and information to our member organisations.
My role involves leading on Communications, but primarily to find individuals and businesses to partner with us. We have lots of opportunities to get involved, from sponsoring or buying tables at one of our events that take place during the year, to direct financial donations and even just time and expertise. We have a great volunteer network and board, as well as the Odysseus Mentoring Programme that people can get involved with.
2025 is a landmark year for us as we celebrate our 90th anniversary. We’ll be running a range of extra events throughout the year to mark the occasion. Our main event in celebration is our Gala Dinner on 10th April at The Fed. Tables of 10 are just £550, and we are seeking a headline sponsor for the event.
